Deer Visit at your Cottage

There have been deer tracks all over our waterfront these past few weeks and I've seen lots of tracks when I go for walks down the road. Today I had a number of deer sightings. I saw deer running across the lake to the island on the ice. And then later this afternoon I saw two deer right on our waterfront. The mom got separated from her two little ones so I waited for her to go back for them and shot this photo.

What is there to do in the Winter?!
This past week our guests have seen deer at a feeding station, saw a female moose crossing the road, went snowshoeing in Algonquin Park, alpine skiing at Hidden Valley, dog sledding at North Ridge Ranch (for the first time!) snow tubing at Rock Ridge Park.
In the evening, they enjoyed the cottage fireplace, watched DVD movies or satellite TV. Some relaxed in a hot tub under the stars.
Lots to do!

Snowmobile at Christmas time
I was in Baysville today checking the local news. I heard from Dan the Groomer Man that he's grooming the snowmobile trails now and he expects that the Muskoka trails will be open for the Christmas holidays.
This is Great News! It's been many years since the trails have been open at Christmas.
