It is a winter wonderland here after yesterday's snow fall. Nancy saw 4 deer on the way into town this morning. They are truly beautiful animals, very graceful. The smallest one stopped to look at the car and so they eyed each other for a couple of minutes.

Deer Tracks in the Snow
First walk in the morning gives you a breath of fresh air but it also lets you see who's been around after you went to sleep.
There were deer eating what's left of Nancy's wildflower garden. Hunting season is over so they are safe for another year. Squirrels getting the last of their winter food stores before hibernating. But no raccons or bears!

Christmas and New Years is a Magical Time
Christmas is a Magical time. It looks like we'll have snow (though its always hard to tell in these days of global warming!)
People come with their families, at Christmas to start a new tradition. They take time to be together and play together. You can hide from work. ( You don't have to tell the boss that we have cell phone coverage and wireless internet if you don't want to! ) Time doesn't quite stop but it slows down a bit.
What is there to do? Skiing, hiking, snow shoeing, snow tubing are some examples.
For New Years, we cater to couples and families who want to celebrate together. No need to dress up. It's come as you are. You don't have to cook if you don't want to. There are lots of restaurants closeby in Huntsville.
We still have some cottages left for Christmas and New Years. Please check our availability and reserve your special time away.

Snow Came Today in Muskoka
Snow came today and stayed in Muskoka! We had to get the shovels out to clear the paths.
The plows were out on the roads so everyone that had to drive, had no problems getting around. The school buses came and went as usual. A good start to real winter weather.
The guests that we have staying with us this week have experienced a variety of weather. Shirt sleeve warm sunny weather, rain and snow - all in the same week!
Past Archive of Beauview Cottage Resort Blog
Hello, I'm Gord - I'm the owner of the Beauview Cottage Resort along with my wife Nancy. We are located near the town of Huntsville in the Muskoka region of Ontario, about 30 minutes drive from the west gate of Algonquin park.
We learned about this new Blog system from a course we've just taken. The best thing we like about it is that you can send your comments too!
Starting now, we'll be using this new system.
