Brian's boat is always full of girls!

Check out Brian's boat. He said he wasn't sure he'd bring it this year but I knew he would. Every time I look - it's full of girls. I count at least six!
Can you tell that I'm envious? - Brian's boat is like a chick magnet!

Beauview Firemen

After a wet start to their week's stay, these determined men and old Boy Scouts, Nick, Brian and Ken, lit a campfire with wet wood without the use of any gasoline. (but they did use a lot of newspaper!)

Congratulations guys!

Can Anyone Identify this Turtle?

This turtle was seen just behind one of our cottages at Beauview. He didn't want to move for an hour. But he was in a traffic zone and we were worried that he'd get run over. Finally we coaxed him into a box and put him near our creek.

Gord is being taught how to Fish

In the 16 years we've been at Beauview, I rarely have gotten out to fish. This week, I had two fishermen staying with us that didn't bring their boats and I had just bought a new fish finder & depth sounder that I wanted to try out.

I went out one night with Jim who was armed with the latest fishing intelligence from Mitch at Triple Star Baits in Baysville. Jim caught one fish and I didn't catch any but we saw a lot pass by us on the fish finder screen!

Last night I went out with Ken, who's been coming to Beauview for 14 years. He used to bring his boat and fish all the time. I wanted him to show me his secret fishing spots. (Then maybe I could qualify as a fishing guide!!)

Ken caught 5 fish and I didn't catch any. I tried, lures, special scented minnows and worms.

And... lots of fish passed by under the boat that didn't want to come into the boat! (I turned off the sound alarm on the fish finder - it was starting to be annoying!)

Best Line We Heard all Week

Allison and her brothers were excited about going to Algonquin Park and hoping to see a moose so they could get a Beauview Moose Award.

Her brothers saw the moose at the Visitors Centre (stuffed) but Allison had the best story - she said "she saw a moose that was disguised as a rabbit".

She got a Beauview Moose Award just for the originality!

Two Year old Twins

Joshua and Abigail are two year twins that love our sand piles. It was amazing that their mom could get them to keep still at our Welcome BBQ. Josh really likes anything motorized - so Nancy's golf cart was very attractive. Cool sunglasses Dudes!

Gord has a twin brother so he's especially in tune with twins of all ages.
